At Iconium Paul and Barnabas went as usual into the Jewish synagogue. There they spoke so effectively that a great number of Jews and Greeks believed.2 But the Jews who refused to believe stirred up the other Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers. 3 So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace by enabling them to perform signs and wonders.
Acts 14: 1-3
When you are a true follower of Christ, you should always understand that your journey will come with much work! All of us who know that we have been called to do a specific task know that the road will not be easy, but there will be many things to spiritually process as you go. Just about all of us can see the opportunities that God gives to us through our perspective ministries whether it be from the church or a personal point of view. Whenever these opportunities become available, and we take advantage of them, there should be one objective in mind, and that is, to win a soul for Christ, and The Kingdom! Whenever that objective is on the mind of the one who is seeking The Kingdom, God will enable that person to minister with an awesome ability, and with much power. So just know that whenever The Power of God is present within you to do Kingdom work, there will always be those who rise up against what God is doing. In this text, when The Power of God spoke through Paul and Barnabas, it drew much contention in the church that they stirred up the people, poisoning their minds to render evil against them while spreading The Gospel, but the text stated that they stayed and remained there a long time speaking boldly about God’s grace! In the end, God proved them to be true by allowing The Power within to do miraculous things before them. I say to you on this Lord’s Day, stand your ground and be fruitful to your call even when many odds are seeming to be stacked against you. For when you remain faithful, constant, and consistent, The Power of God will work a work in you so mightily, that you will stand strong as the proof whom God has sent! When you’re bold, God’s Power will unfold, and when you’re obedient, he’ll prove to everyone that he is that excellent one!
