Think on This!: 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Greetings to you family with Jesus Joy,
One phrase and familiar saying that we all sometimes take for granted is, “It’s good to be alive!” From my h
eart to yours, I dearly pray that this saying resignates deeply within you as you continue to experience this day. Just one week ago today, hurricane Matthew made an impact on our area, and while many suffered from inconveniences resulting from the storm, the impact that we received was nothing compared to the devastations that many had to endure. Many of us didn’t have the luxury of having a back up for power with the use of a generator, or another support source of electricity during the storm. Many of us may have started, or attempted to complain about the things that became ineffective to us that we use on a daily basis. But I challenge you this morning to stop, and to realize that all things that we allowed to become a crutch, many have had to conquer and to live without for as long as they have lived! In-spite of it all, give thanks, because while you temporarily may have lost power to turn a light on to see, you still have life to appreciate the fact that you made it! While you may have had to preserve foods and liquids by filling a cooler with ice, appreciate the fact that there was something to save while many are struggling to find food to feed their families! I pray that as you read this text, that the conviction of The Holy Spirit will prick your heart to be reminded that through it all, and what many of you may have had to endure this week, that you would be grateful, and to continue to give God thanks! Though many of us did our best to attempt to save, and to salvage valuable goods, let us be a bit more mindful that we are here because God saved our very lives by his Grace! Be blessed this week! I love you!
